Ploticus includes the following code written elsewhere:
GD library 1.3 and 1.6.3 by Thomas Boutell
Output modules for SVG and SWF by Bill Traill
Patch and smaller items are acknowledged directly in the source code or docs.


Clarifications: (my own opinions)

• Please contact me if you have questions or permission requests (see above).

• Can I make modifications to ploticus code?
Yes, but any derivatives must also be made freely available as GPL code, and you must keep the GPL.txt and Copyright files intact with the source code. The original authorship and provenance must not be hidden.

• Can ploticus be included/distributed as part of a non-GPL product?
You're prohibited from selling a non-GPL product that includes ploticus GPL code as an integral part. However it's probably ok for a non-GPL product to invoke the pl(1) command and give the end user the option to install ploticus for themselves. The GPL addresses this issue here.

• How should ploticus be cited if it was used in the production of a published work?
Citation is always appreciated. Language like this is suggested: Graphical data displays were produced using Ploticus software (ploticus.sf.net).
